Modernization with sensitivity – renovation of a residential and commercial building on Rennweg in Zurich

In the middle of downtown Zurich, on the renowned Rennweg, GRIWA DEVELOPMENT has extensively renovated and converted a historic residential and commercial building. The aim was to preserve the charm of the old building while at the same time meeting today's requirements in terms of functionality, aesthetics and use.
 

Modern, attractive retail spaces were created on the ground floor and upper floors. The previously unused attic was converted into a bright, exclusive apartment. The challenge was to harmoniously combine modern architecture with the existing building structure and to make optimal use of the space.

Particular attention was paid to the preservation and enhancement of historical elements. These were carefully restored and supplemented with contemporary materials and clear lines. The result is an exciting interplay of tradition and modernity that fits stylishly into the cityscape.

GRIWA DEVELOPMENT took over the entire project management - from planning to dismantling, construction submission to turnkey handover. This holistic approach enabled the construction project to be completed efficiently, to a high quality and on time.

The renovated building on Rennweg now represents the sustainable use of historical buildings and contributes to the upgrading of Zurich's city center - both architecturally and economically.
